I am in nature quite often but I seldom see owls. When I do I am always happy to take a photo of them. They can be so quiet that I know that more owls have seen me than I have seen owls. That is why I hung this one in a nice canvas print.
I discovered my love for photography during a visit to my aunt during my sophomore year of high school. She gifted me a dozen rolls of film for an old, inexpensive Instamatic camera and took me on an unforgettable adventure to the San Diego Zoo. Armed with that little camera and a sense of wonder, I explored the zoo, capturing the beauty and personality of the animals through the lens. It was an experience like no other, and it ignited a passion that would stay with me for the rest of my life. In college, I managed to find a reasonably priced 35mm camera, but the cost of film and developing was a hurdle that kept me from fully diving into the craft. Then, as often happens, life got busy.
